Terri and Kevin. Oh how I adore these two. What a beautiful family and what a wonderful day! I have a habit of making friends with my clients and their families, and I immediately felt right at home when I met Terri to discuss details. What an angel. What an absolutely radiant soul. I can't tell you how excited I was to be there after meeting her and her family.
The venue was The Fountain Square Mall Ballroom, the date was July 3rd. Terri was breathtaking in her gown. She wore a crown made of Baby's Breath and Daisies that was loving hand-crafted by her daughter, Shawn.  The bouquets were also handmade by her daughters and grandchildren and they all helped to decorate the ballroom's tables and chairs with beautiful flowers and candles. The entire day was a family affair and the joy radiating from everyone brought me to tears on more than one occasion.

I could have photographed these two all day. The way they looked at each other was so endearing. The love and joy that all their family and friends expressed the whole day was so much fun to capture that I found myself smiling ear to ear the entire time. <3 SO many beautiful memories from they day I will never forget: The moment Kevin saw Terri for the first time that day, while waiting patiently for her standing at the fountain. Dancing with the grandchildren while waiting for the ceremony to begin. Kevin and Terri's mothers lighting their candles. The tears that fell when Terri's Father's song played. Kevin's brother and Best Man, Ken, welcoming Terri into the family with a toast. That first dance....
I am blessed to have met this family, and honored to have captured their memories for them. Terri and Kevin, I wish you life-long joy and happiness just like what I felt in that room that day. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Beatty. <3

Here Goes Nothin'!

So this is my first blog.  Ever. Not quite sure how someone who talks as much as I do has yet to create a space to ramble on and on with until now ;)
I promise I will not ramble here. Ok my fingers were crossed when I said that, but if you know me, you know that's how I roll. :)
First off, I just wanna say "WOW". I cannot believe that I have been photographing you beautiful people for a little under a year now! This September marks my one year anniversary as an official photographer. It's been a journey, I can promise you that. Two years ago I got my first DSLR, a Nikon D3200, and started snapping away. Quickly heard "oh your pictures are so pretty, you should charge people!". Well, it's not that easy. I wasn't ready. Noooooo...I was NOT ready. I was stuck in Auto on every setting on the thing and the only thing fancy I did was point my camera at interesting angles. Fast-forward to a year later and many occasions of me squealing in delight, and there I was with a camera in my hands that was making magical things happen with MY help, and not the other way around. I still spend almost all my free time learning new techniques and  every single thing I can in regards to photography. I've upgraded my camera, my equipment, my studio and my skills, and I STILL have lots to learn. I believe that the day I stop trying to learn is the day that I have lost my passion. ALWAYS strive for better.  And always remember to be your own cheerleader, as well as your own worst critic.
I'm sitting here today waiting on a large gallery to upload and browsing through all the faces that I've photographed over the last 10 months. I can't help but feel moved that so many of you put your faith in me to capture such precious events and memories for you. The number of you that keep coming back and bringing your friends along with you is amazing to me, and I am more flattered and thankful than you probably know. I am so thrilled to have built friendships with so many of you, and I am so excited for the future!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are all my sunshine and I mean that in the most sincere and corny way possible! I want to hug every single one of you right now! Can't wait to see you all again!
