Fall in Love with Your Fall Photos

It's that time of year again! It's starting to get gorgeous out. The cool, crisp air, the leaves are turning, you dug out your favorite hoodie and insist on wearing it daily...
While most of you are preparing for family photos as soon as the leaves turn, I know you are pulling your hair out trying to figure out what to wear. I know I do every year lol How matchy should we be? How many patterns are too many patterns? Honey can I just hire a personal stylist this year????
Relax! I promise you are better at it than you realize! #1 rule: BE COMFORTABLE! If your clothes are too tight or you are miserable in them, it's going to show on your face in your photos, and it's never fun to tug at your outfit and adjust accessories between every single shot or run away toddler lol I've got some helpful tips for you to start with if you feel completely lost, and a link to a Pinterest board I created as well if you are already tired of reading this ;)

Ok, so I LOVE neutrals in fall photos. Why? You stand out! The eye is automatically drawn to you because you differ so greatly from your surroundings. Yes, I know you are excited about those beautiful orange trees behind you. I promise they are still there and everyone will still gasp at how beautiful they are! But I want everyone to notice those beautiful smiles and faces first :) Also, I can't think I've a single person I've ever met that doesn't look good in neutrals. Oh, and side note: I did not take this pic. Credit to good ole' Pinterest for the image ;)

Let's talk patterns. As you can see by my little twins friends on the left, Isla and Wylder, they are totally OK! Coordinating patterns are super fun and bring a lot of character to your photos! Not sure if they coordinate? Feel free to run them by me! I'm always available to help out my clients with wardrobe questions! Mind you, I'm not an "expert", but I'm for sure not afraid to tell you "please don't wear that Hawaiian shirt to your fall photos" lol

I just love mustard and navy together. That's all. Bonus high fives if you show up to my minis in these colors because they are my fav and they look AMAZING!

Ladies, let's talk accessories. Boots. Ohhhh...boots. They are a must for your fall wardrobe. Nothing says "fall" like an amazing pair of boots! Scarves are amazing too. I have too many scarves. Keep the accessories simple: I love the way a delicate necklace looks layered with an awesome fall scarf. Simple earrings and bracelets. Belts. Choose 1-2 to use but not all. Example: tall boots and a big infinity scarf. Simple accessories keep the focus on you and not your outfit. Remember, you want what you wear to complement you and not steal your spotlight ;)
The items above are some stock photos from a few pieces I own. In case you're curious: tall boots are from Francesca's (Not Rated brand), scarf from Buckle, and combats from Target.

I could keep going on and on. So here is where I share my Pinterest link to get you started. I'll leave you again with my #1 rule: Be COMFORTABLE. I cannot stress that enough. Sincere smiling faces are the most important part of your photos. That's all you will care about when you look back at these photos 20 years from now :) Please feel free to reach out to me at any point and time if you want any help with your outfits before we do pics this fall! Email, Facebook, phone...I do it all! Remember, this is FUN!
Enjoy the weather and this time with your family! I cannot wait to see you all and capture some precious moments! <3
