Spring Is Here!

So, I'll admit I suck at keeping the blog updated. But I'm up late, and feel like sharing, so here goes! ;)

I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that winter is gone! Blame the Arizona in my blood, but I am not a fan of the cold. Snow is pretty, but I am so ready for flowers and sunshine and spending all day everyday outside. BUT! It was a glorious season of romantic engagement sessions for me for the last couple of months! And I will never complain about that! SO many brides-to-be in that gorgeous winter light with all that snow on the ground...I am still sighing happily looking at the photos from this winter :)
I've also had a ton of cake smash sessions over the winter! I get incredibly excited to customize each kiddo's setup. I partnered up with Cakes In Bloom, LLC also! Rachel is so incredibly gifted at what she does, so I was eager to approach her and ask if she would be willing to be the one I come to for all my smash cakes! I've gotten so excited about these sessions that I have begun offering special package deals on them! Make sure you contact me ASAP if you want to do one! These are slowly turning into my favorite thing to do!

I worked a lot with the local law enforcement agencies in town over the winter too. I'm super proud of the fact that I did the staff photos for both  the Bloomington Police Department as well as the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in 2015. One of the most rewarding tasks of my career thus far! I made so many new friends in the process, and in turn, ended up photographing quite a few new families for Christmas and then some. I've been asked back to both agencies numerous times now for various photo jobs, and my work has started popping up all over their social media outlets as well as their websites. I'm not ashamed to admit how proud I am of that. lol
As I mentioned in my previous blog, I also started my LEO photo project. You will be seeing more photos over the next few months of some of the officers I know and care for. These people are dear friends of mine, and my main goal is for everyone to see them for the wonderful people that they are, and not just "cops".

I really hope you caught this one. My epic "Dirty 30" Cake Smash.
I have never ,ever had a post go viral before. Well, maybe only semi-viral, but I am still reeling from this one. Over 10,000 shares on this post! I still cannot fathom that number.
I had had the vision of an adult cake smash session in my head for quite a while. Just never attempted it. But when one of your best friends is turning 30, it seems appropriate!
I don't think I could've picked a better subject lol Brittany pulled out all the stops and went for it with this one. Myself, her, and her fiance were laughing so hard as I shot these that we had tears in our eyes! Best time I have ever had working and probably the most epic photos I've ever taken. I don't know that I can top this!
Lastly this winter, I aged a little.  I turned 34 this year, and I am happily settled into my 30's at this point. Or at least that's what I'm gonna keep telling myself ;) Why is that important? It's not. But I like to think that every year I age is another year of wisdom and blessings under my belt, and another reason to be thankful. I have so many people in my life right now that this job has given to me, and I love every single one of you with all my heart and soul.
I cannot wait for flowers. I cannot wait for sunshine. And I cannot WAIT to see your smiling faces again this spring. Its going to be an amazing year! <3 <3 <
